The IAA Open Space brings the mobility of today and tomorrow right into the heart of downtown Munich – exactly where it can be experienced. Here, companies showcase their ideas and offerings centered around sustainable mobility. The focus is on vehicles and solutions that are low-emission or emission-free – such as e-bikes, e-scooters, and electric cars.

The best part: admission is free and open to everyone. Visitors can not only view electric cars, e-bikes, and e-scooters, but also try them out on the spot.

Exhibitors focus on hands-on experiences and dialogue rather than traditional presentations. The booths blend seamlessly into the urban landscape and invite people to engage. The IAA Open Space makes sustainable mobility of today and tomorrow truly tangible – for everyone.

The IAA Open Space takes place from September 9 to 14, 2025, and is open daily from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM. On Sunday, September 14, adjusted hours apply: from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Evening events hosted by exhibitors may continue in the Open Space until 11:00 PM.

At the IAA Open Space, you can use the public parking facilities provided by the City of Munich.

As a private visitor, you’ll find public charging stations at the IAA Summit in the West Parking Garage as well as throughout the Munich city area. To help with planning, you can use the charging station map from the Federal Network Agency.

The IAA Open Space on public squares is open to everyone and free of charge. However, for certain designated exhibitor events, there may be access controls or tickets required – depending on official regulations.

All IAA Open Space exhibitors are required to offset any unavoidable emissions from their events by supporting climate protection projects.

Yes, restroom facilities are available on the event grounds. Care is also taken to ensure that wheelchair-accessible toilets are provided.

The Family Trail is an interactive scavenger hunt for kids throughout the IAA Open Space. At several stations, little ones can playfully explore, participate – and look forward to the chance of winning great prizes at the end.

The Citizens Lab is a free dialogue platform located right on Marienplatz in Munich – open to everyone interested in the future of mobility.

You'll find a welcoming space with a stage, exhibitions, hands-on activities, and areas to relax. The focus is on sharing ideas about how we can shape climate-friendly mobility between urban and rural areas – without technical jargon.
