The expansion program covers both public and private charging stations. Special emphasis is being placed on expanding fast-charging infrastructure along major transit corridors, in densely populated areas of the Greater Bay Area, and within logistics and industrial hubs. The goal is to align the charging network's capacity with the ongoing rapid growth of the EV fleet, while simultaneously supporting the electrification of freight transport.

Guangdong plays a pivotal role in electromobility within China. The province is home to numerous automotive and battery manufacturers, as well as major tech companies. Featuring major metropolises like Guangzhou and Shenzhen, the region ranks among the largest markets for electric vehicles worldwide.

In addition to expanding the physical charging infrastructure, the province plans to integrate more smart charging systems. This includes load management solutions, grid-friendly charging, and a more seamless integration of renewable energy sources. These measures are designed to help ensure power grid stability despite the rising demand for electricity.
