Genesis GV90: New Electric Flagship Features 123.5-kWh Battery

Genesis is expanding its electric portfolio with a new top-of-the-line model. With the GV90, Hyundai’s luxury brand debuts a fully electric full-size SUV as its flagship. Based on the Neolun Concept introduced in 2024, the production vehicle comes to market in two variants: the standard GV90 and the ultra-luxurious GV90 Neolun.

123.5-kWh battery targets around 310 miles of range

Underpinning the GV90 is the eMP platform, developed specifically for Genesis’s flagship EV. Packing a 123.5-kWh capacity, the high-voltage battery marks the largest pack used in a Hyundai Motor Group electric vehicle to date. A wireless battery management system helps enable more efficient battery integration, among other benefits.

For the seven-seat GV90, Genesis targets a range of approximately 310 miles (around 500 km) based on internal development tests. At a 350-kW DC fast charger, the state of charge goes from 10 to 80 percent in 22 minutes.

490 kW output and active rear-wheel steering

Power comes from electric motors on both the front and rear axles. Together, they generate a maximum output of 490 kW (657 hp) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque. Marking a first for Hyundai Motor Group, a Dual E-LSD distributes drive force to all four wheels depending on driving conditions. A multi-chamber air suspension and active rear-wheel steering—offering up to five degrees of steering angle—boost both ride comfort and agility.

OLED display, Pleos Connect and Gleo AI inside

Inside, Genesis relies heavily on digital features. A retractable OLED display measures 23.6 inches while driving and expands to 24.6 inches when parked. It is paired with a 25-inch head-up display. Powered by Android Automotive OS, the new Pleos Connect infotainment system supports downloadable vehicle apps. It also integrates the “Gleo AI” generative assistant for natural voice control of vehicle functions.

Measuring 208.1 inches (5.285 m) long, 79.9 inches (2.03 m) wide, and riding on a 127.8-inch (3.245 m) wheelbase, the GV90 firmly anchors itself in the full-size segment. Depending on the trim, it rides on 22- or 24-inch wheels.

GV90 Neolun First Edition expands the lineup

Alongside the standard GV90 and GV90 Neolun, Genesis announced a limited GV90 Neolun First Edition. Based on the four-seat Executive Suite layout, it adds two-tone exterior paint, 24-inch forged wheels, and exclusive interior materials and design details.
