Cupra is refreshing its electric SUV-coupe, the Tavascan, bringing the model up to date both technically and strategically through a comprehensive mid-cycle update. The focus is on a new entry-level version, a modernized interior, and significant improvements to user interface and digitalization.

New Entry-Level Variant Expands the Lineup
With this facelift, Cupra is introducing a base version for the first time. Equipped with a 140 kW electric motor and a 58 kWh LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery, this model specifically expands the portfolio downward. It offers a range of approximately 270 miles (435 kilometers), while the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in about 26 minutes.
With this variant, Cupra aims to lower the starting price and reach new customer segments without sacrificing the brand's signature sporty character.
Technical Enhancements via MEB Evolution
The update is part of a group-wide evolution of the MEB platform, which is already utilized across several Volkswagen Group models. Alongside the new base version, the existing portfolio remains available with more powerful variants, including models with up to 250 kW of output and a 77 kWh battery. This allows Cupra to continue blending performance-oriented top-tier models with more efficient entry-level options.

A More Digital and Intuitive Interior
The Tavascan’s interior is receiving a significant upgrade. This includes a larger 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit, a revamped infotainment system based on Android OS, and updated control concepts.
Notably, Cupra is reintegrating physical buttons on the steering wheel to improve usability while driving. The update is rounded out by new features such as one-pedal driving and an overall more intuitive user experience.
