Volvo Cars has unveiled the EX60, an all-electric premium midsize SUV designed to set new benchmarks in range, charging performance, technology, and value. Production is slated to begin in 2026 at the company’s Swedish plant, with initial deliveries expected in the summer of 2026.

Range and Performance: Up to 500+ Miles 

The new Volvo EX60 will be available with three distinct powertrain options: 

  • P12 AWD Electric: Offers a range of up to 810 kilometers (approx. 503 miles). 
  • P10 AWD Electric: Delivers a range of up to 660 kilometers (approx. 410 miles). 
  • P6 Electric (RWD): Provides a range of up to 620 kilometers (approx. 385 miles). 

Thanks to its 400-kW DC fast-charging capability, the EX60 can add up to 340 kilometers (approx. 211 miles) of range in just about ten minutes.

Tech and Platform: SPA3, Megacasting, and AI Assistance 

The EX60 is built on the new SPA3 dedicated electric platform and integrates several cutting-edge technologies. These include megacasting components for increased efficiency and reduced weight, an innovative cell-to-body battery integration, and the "HuginCore" core computing system, designed to boost the vehicle's processing and sensor power. 

As the company’s most intelligent vehicle to date, the Volvo EX60 is equipped with state-of-the-art tech to simplify life behind the wheel. It features the latest version of HuginCore, Volvo Cars' centralized computing system that enables the car to think, process, and act. Furthermore, the EX60 is the first Volvo model to feature the Google Gemini AI assistant, integrated into Android Automotive OS for natural, dialogue-based interaction. 

Safety and Over-the-Air Updates 

True to Volvo’s heritage, the EX60 places a premium on safety. It features a reinforced safety cell made of boron steel, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and a comprehensive sensor array for 360-degree situational awareness. Volvo emphasizes that the vehicle will continue to improve over time via Over-the-Air (OTA) updates, allowing for the continuous development of features and functions.
