What does Episode 3 cover, Lou?

In Episode 3 of the IAA MOBILITY Visionary Podcast, we talk about urban mobility and sustainable transportation. My guests discuss urban mobility and its biggest impacts on the climate, the environment and people. They also talk about what innovative technologies can be integrated into urban transport systems, the role autonomous vehicles could play in the city, and the benefits of micro-mobility services such as e-scooters and e-bikes. We also discuss strategies for improving public transport networks and how urban planning and design can contribute to the creation of sustainable transport systems.

Who are your guests?

My first guest is Marco te Brömmelstroet. He is the Professor of Future Mobility at the University of Amsterdam and has been researching mobility for years. His teaching focuses on land allocation and mobility in urban planning. In addition, Brömmelstroet is. Chairman of the Urban Cycling Institute, which is part of the Center for Urban Studies. A research center that brings together more than 50 researchers and over 50 graduate students from the fields of human geography, planning, sociology, political science, anthropology, and international development studies to explore the relationships between cycling, society, and cities.

My second guest is Dr. Maria Tsavachidis. She is the CEO of EIT Urban Mobility, a European knowledge and innovation community to accelerate the transition to sustainable urban mobility and urban spaces worth living in. Since January 2019, staff here have been conducting research to positively transform how people move around in cities to make them more livable.
