Mobility Only Works Together: IAA MOBILITY and Deutsche Bahn Expand Their Partnership
- “Zukunft Nahverkehr”, the future of public transit experience, at Munich’s Königsplatz to Showcase Local Transportation Solutions
- Premiere: Bavaria and DB Unveil Walk-Through Mockup of the Future XXL S-Bahn for Munich
IAA MOBILITY and Zukunft Nahverkehr (ZNV), an initiative by Deutsche Bahn (DB) promoting public mobility, are deepening their collaboration. Following their initial partnership in 2023, DB will be represented at this year’s IAA MOBILITY in Munich for the first time with a major presence at Königsplatz. Under the shared message “Mobility Only Works Together,” both partners are sending a strong message in favor of future-ready mobility—built on close collaboration and the seamless integration of all modes of transport.
Hildegard Müller, President of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), explains: "IAA MOBILITY is about the interplay between different modes of transportation—and the synergies that can create sustainable solutions for the future. Our renewed and deepened collaboration with the Zukunft Nahverkehr initiative and Deutsche Bahn is a perfect example. It shows how we can shape tomorrow’s climate-neutral and digital mobility by working together through innovative technologies and smart connectivity. We’re excited to expand the focus on public transport at IAA MOBILITY alongside Zukunft Nahverkehr and Deutsche Bahn."
Richard Lutz, CEO of Deutsche Bahn AG, adds: "A future-ready public transportation system connects trains and buses with shared and personal mobility options—always centered around people’s needs. At IAA MOBILITY in Munich, we’ll show how we and our partners are preparing for the future. One thing is clear: mobility only works together!"
This partnership marks an important step in bringing together diverse perspectives and user needs into one cohesive system. Rather than pitting different transportation options against each other, it promotes smart and future-oriented cooperation. As a globally significant mobility event, IAA MOBILITY focuses on the importance and ongoing evolution of individual mobility. Its societal importance is clear – confirmed by the latest IAA MOBILITY Trend Index from early July 2025, which found that 96% of people in Germany consider personal mobility a top priority in their everyday lives.
