XPENG L05: New Electric SUV Coming to Europe in Early 2027

Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer XPENG has unveiled the L05, a new family SUV scheduled to enter the European market in early 2027. The model made its debut in China in late October 2026 and combines a spacious interior with proprietary AI technologies for intelligent driver assistance systems.

New AI Chip and Intelligent Operating System

At the heart of the vehicle's technology is XPENG's proprietary "Turing" AI chip. Together with the company's in-house VLA 2.0 system, it is designed to provide the foundation for the new SUV's intelligent driving functions.

VLA stands for Vision-Language-Action and refers to an AI approach that combines visual information, language understanding, and driving decisions. This technology is designed to enable the vehicle to perceive its surroundings in real time, interpret traffic situations, and support appropriate driving maneuvers.

XPENG describes this approach as "physical AI," in which artificial intelligence not only processes digital information but also interacts with the real-world environment. Details about the specific driver assistance features available in the European version of the L05 are expected to be announced in January 2027.

Five-Seat Family SUV

Within XPENG's model lineup, the L05 is positioned above the L03 SUV coupe. The new model is designed as a five-seater and primarily targets families looking for a spacious, practical vehicle for everyday use.

The manufacturer emphasizes the combination of a flexible interior, comfort, and intelligent vehicle features. Specific details regarding vehicle dimensions, cargo capacity, and additional equipment have not yet been released.

The European version of the XPENG L05 will be presented at the Brussels Motor Show, taking place January 8–17, 2027.
