Volkswagen has celebrated the world premiere of the new ID. Polo, which is set to launch with a new, efficient front-wheel drive and will be available in three power levels: 85 kW (116 PS), 99 kW (135 PS), and 155 kW (211 PS). The 85-kW and 99-kW versions will come standard with a 37 kWh LFP (lithium iron phosphate) version of the new high-voltage battery. This battery can be charged from 10% to 80% at DC fast-charging stations in approximately 23 minutes and is expected to offer a range of up to 329 km. The 155-kW drivetrain is powered by an NMC (nickel manganese cobalt) variant with an energy capacity of 52 kWh, enabling ranges of up to 454 km and a 10% to 80% DC charging time of about 24 minutes.

Compared to the combustion engine model, the ID. Polo benefits from the MEB+ platform, offering significantly better space utilization. For example, the trunk volume has increased by 25 percent—from 351 to 441 liters. With the rear seats folded down, the cargo capacity rises to 1,240 liters. This extra room allows the vehicle to comfortably seat five people.

According to the company, the new cockpit layout is a defining feature of the ID. Polo. The "Digital Cockpit," with a 26.0 cm (10-inch) diagonal, is positioned right in the driver's line of sight. The touch display for the new "Innovision" infotainment system (32.77 cm / 13-inch diagonal) is centrally located in the dashboard and is designed to be easily accessible for both the driver and the front passenger. It is intended to have the look and feel of a high-end tablet.

Thanks to the MEB+ and new software, the ID. Polo comes standard with a variety of modern driver-assistance systems. Optionally, the next generation of Travel Assist supports assisted longitudinal and lateral guidance, even reacting to traffic lights (within system limits). One-pedal driving is also available as standard, allowing the car to decelerate significantly just by modulating the accelerator pedal.

The ID. Polo will be offered in three trim levels: "Trend," "Life," and "Style." The ID. Polo Trend comes standard with a 90-kW DC fast-charging function. Additionally, assistance systems such as "Side Assist" and Lane Assist (including Emergency Assist) are part of the standard equipment. Other standard features include LED headlights with High Beam Assist, the 10-inch "Digital Cockpit," the 13-inch "Innovision" infotainment system, a synthetic leather multifunction steering wheel, and automatic climate control.

The ID. Polo Life is the second trim level. It comes standard with assistance systems like Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), a rearview camera ("Rear View"), front park assist, and Cross Traffic Assist. Additionally, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and power-folding exterior mirrors with memory function provide extra comfort. Digital features such as voice control, App Connect for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and inductive smartphone charging are also standard. It also features a variable load floor for even more convenient use of the large trunk.

In addition to the features of the "Trend" and "Life" trims, the ID. Polo Style arrives with state-of-the-art lighting technology, including "IQ.LIGHT – LED Matrix headlights" with an illuminated LED light bar, 3D LED taillights, and an illuminated VW emblem at the front and rear. The interior is defined by sport comfort seats, ambient lighting, and high-quality materials. Features like a heated steering wheel and seats, as well as dual-zone automatic climate control, are also part of this premium trim. Another innovation is the improved version of ID. Light on board the ID. Polo Style. It provides everyday support with visual cues for things like navigation instructions or charging status. For the first time, the light strip also extends into the front doors, enabling new functions—such as warning of approaching traffic before a door is opened.

Optional equipment for the new ID. Polo includes a high-end Harman Kardon sound system with 425 watts, ten speakers (including a center speaker for clear voice transmission), and a subwoofer. Also available as an option is a large panoramic glass roof. A first for this segment is the pneumatic massage function for the 12-way power-adjustable front seats. There are three massage programs to choose from—a luxury-class feature in the small car segment. The power-adjustable driver's seat also includes a memory function.

As one of the first VW models, the ID. Polo can now provide power to external devices (up to 3.6 kW). This essentially turns the vehicle into a mobile power outlet for things like e-bikes or outdoor equipment. Charging is possible via a 230V outlet in the interior or through the Mode 3 port of the charging socket using a separate adapter.

At market launch, the all-electric compact model will be available with one motor configuration. The base version and additional drivetrain and equipment variants are expected to follow in the summer.
