The design concept utilizes smart's signature "wheels-at-the-corners" architecture, which is intended to maximize interior space despite an overall vehicle length of only 110 inches (2,792 millimeters). The concept vehicle is specifically engineered to leverage smart's advanced, newly developed ECA platform. With Concept #2, the brand envisions an electric range of up to approximately 185 miles (300 kilometers) and DC fast-charging capabilities that could increase the battery's state of charge from 10 to 80 percent in under 20 minutes. The concept model also includes Vehicle-To-Load (V2L) functionality.

The production version of the smart #2, serving as the successor to the fortwo, is scheduled to celebrate its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show in October 2026. Additionally, during the smart Global Brand Event 2026, the brand introduced the smart #6 EHD3, another new model tailored for the Chinese market. Also designed by the Mercedes-Benz Global Design Team, this vehicle is set to mark smart’s official entry into the premium fastback sedan segment.
