Škoda Begins Production of New Electric Flagship Peaq

Škoda has launched series production of its new Peaq at its main plant in Mladá Boleslav. The all-electric seven-seater is the Czech automaker’s largest SUV to date and is being produced on a shared assembly line alongside the electric Elroq and Enyaq models, as well as the conventionally powered Octavia. This gives Škoda a flexible production setup capable of handling different powertrain types at a single site.

Flexible production in Mladá Boleslav

To build the Peaq, Škoda further upgraded its Mladá Boleslav production line, which was originally designed for combustion-engine vehicles. The Enyaq has been rolling off the line there since 2020, followed by the Elroq in early 2025. With the addition of the Peaq, three electric vehicles and the Octavia Combi are now manufactured on the same line.

Measuring 4.87 meters long, the brand’s largest SUV required additional technical modifications. These included larger production rails and a new manipulator for installing the third row of seats. This flexible production structure is designed to allow Škoda to respond faster to shifts in demand and potential supply chain disruptions. Since May, the Octavia Combi has also been produced at the Kvasiny plant, freeing up additional EV manufacturing capacity in Mladá Boleslav.

Up to 91 kWh and more than 640 kilometers of range

Like the Enyaq and Elroq, the Peaq is based on the MEB+ modular electric platform. Two battery sizes are available. The smaller version has a gross capacity of 63 kWh and a usable capacity of 59 kWh. Higher-spec variants use a battery with 91 kWh gross and 86 kWh usable capacity. According to Škoda, it is the largest battery yet fitted to one of the brand’s electric vehicles and enables a range of more than 640 kilometers.

The Peaq’s battery systems are also produced in Mladá Boleslav. Three power output levels are available, ranging from 150 kW (204 PS) to 220 kW (299 PS). Depending on the variant, the electric SUV comes with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

As the brand’s new SUV flagship, the Peaq also introduces several features not previously offered by Škoda. These include flush-fitting door handles and a panoramic roof with “Dynamic Shade Control.” The vehicle also supports bidirectional charging.
