Fan Technology Delivers Up to 2,000 Kilograms of Downforce

The defining feature of the Spéirling PURE is its patented Downforce-on-Demand system. Two high-performance fans generate up to 2,000 kilograms (4,400 lbs) of downforce even at a standstill, effectively sucking the vehicle onto the track surface. This allows the hypercar to achieve lateral acceleration of up to 3g in corners and an equal 3g of deceleration under braking. Unlike conventional aerodynamic concepts, this downforce is maintained even at very low speeds or during a spin.

New Battery and 1,000 HP

The Spéirling PURE is powered by two electric motors on the rear axle, delivering around 1,000 hp. A new 100 kWh lithium-ion battery replaces the previous 60 kWh version and utilizes Molicel NCA cylindrical cells. At the same time, regenerative braking power has been increased to up to 200 kW. The vehicle launches from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 1.55 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 190 mph (305 km/h).

Extensive Technical Developments

For the production version, the vehicle received a completely new carbon-fiber monocoque structure that meets global motorsport safety standards while offering more space in the cockpit. The wheelbase was extended to 2.2 meters (86.6 inches) to accommodate the larger battery. New Helix electric motors, a revised gearbox, optimized cooling, and a repositioned fan system are designed to enhance both driving dynamics and efficiency. Additionally, the car features a Formula 1-style hydraulic power steering system, wider Michelin slick tires, and optional electronically adjustable dampers.

Focus on Ease of Use and Customization

McMurtry emphasizes that despite its extreme performance capabilities, the Spéirling PURE is designed to be as user-friendly as possible. According to the manufacturer, the vehicle can be run at track days with just the driver and one support person. At DC fast-charging stations, the battery can be recharged from 20 to 95 percent in 20 to 60 minutes, depending on charging power and ambient temperature.
As an option, McMurtry also offers a portable 100 kWh energy storage unit with a 120 kW output, enabling charging independent of fixed track infrastructure. Customers can also fully personalize the vehicle with numerous paint finishes, graphics, and interior options.

Deliveries to Begin in 2026

The Spéirling PURE is manufactured at McMurtry's new state-of-the-art facility in the Cotswolds, UK. Its first public appearance in production specification will take place at the Goodwood Festival of Speed from July 9 to 12, followed by its official US debut on August 14 at "The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering" in California. Customer deliveries are scheduled to begin later in 2026.
