The Denza Z was first unveiled as a concept car at Auto Shanghai 2025 and is positioned as an electric sports car designed to compete with established high-performance models from European manufacturers. Wolfgang Egger, whose previous work includes stints at Audi and Lamborghini, is responsible for the design. The vehicle will be available as a coupe, with an open-top Spyder version also in the pipeline.

The technical foundation of the sports car is the BYD-developed e³ platform, which is already featured in other models within the Denza lineup. The powertrain relies on three electric motors and all-wheel drive. With its announced output of 1,180 kW, the Denza Z is set to break into classic hypercar territory, significantly outperforming many traditional sports cars.

Beyond its massive power figures, the sports car aims to impress with innovative chassis technology. Features planned include a steer-by-wire system, the latest generation of the "DiSus-M" active suspension, and advanced driving dynamics. The platform also enables precise torque vectoring between individual wheels, which is expected to deliver both high driving stability and exceptional agility.
