IAA MOBILITY 2023

5 good reasons for the IAA Experience in downtown

The IAA Experience is the IAA MOBILITY 2023 event format: From September 5 to 10, the IAA Experience in downtown Munich offers visitors the opportunity to experience innovations from a wide range of mobility sectors up close and to test them on test drives and test tracks. Here are 5 reasons why you should visit the IAA Experience in downtown Munich.

Experience the mobility of the future with test drives in downtown Munich.

As a private visitor, IAA Experience offers you a variety of opportunities to try out the mobility of tomorrow under real-life road conditions already today. The participating exhibitors - including Audi, BMW, BYD, Cupra, Ford, holoride, Honda, Lotus, Lucid, Mercedes Benz, Polestar, Porsche, smart, Volkswagen, Volta Trucks and Xpeng - will be offering test drives of current zero-emission production models at the various drop-off points at the Königsplatz, Wittelsbacher Platz, the Apothekenhof, Max-Joseph-Platz, Galeriestraße and the Schönfeldstraße in the heart of Munich. As of now, more than 150 vehicles will be available for visitors to test. You can book the test drives in advance via the booking tools of the participating exhibitors, if such a tool is offered. The link to the booking tool can be found in the individual vehicle entry of the IAA MOBILITY App. Visitors can also register for test drives on site at designated departure points. In 2021, interest in the test drives was very high already and thus quickly booked up. IAA MOBILITY 2023 will top this record once again!

In addition to vehicles, you can test e-scooters, cargo bikes and bicycles!

IAA MOBILITY stands for modern and sustainable mobility in all its facets. At the IAA Experience you can not only test the latest climate-friendly cars, but also e-scooters, cargo bikes and bicycles. The Cycling Test Track in the Englischer Garten in the northeast of Munich is a prime example. For the first time, the Cycling Test Track offers the opportunity to ride bicycles and micro mobility products on two signposted routes of different lengths. Whether you're looking for an all-terrain mountain bike, a city bike or a cargo bike, suitable for use in urban spaces, this year's IAA MOBILITY offers the entire range of transport modes. Sign up for the bike test track on the exhibition grounds of the numerous bike exhibitors.

Take advantage of mobile charging and innovative apps for sustainable mobility

Being the world's most important mobility platform, IAA MOBILITY sees itself as a pioneer in the interplay between mobility, technology and sustainability, as well as in the field of connected mobility. This year, in addition to the various modes of transportation, numerous technological and infrastructural developments will play an important role. Exhibitors from the fields of smart city infrastructure and charging infrastructure will also be bringing their innovative products to life in downtown Munich, providing unique insights into exciting future use cases for innovation. For example, E-GAP will be offering a mobile charging service for electric vehicles using e-vans at the Bavarian Central State Archives in the Schönfeldstraße and the Arcisstraße. Moreover, the Munich Mobility Department, together with a number of partners, has built several mobility points within the city center, including one in the Westenriederstraße, to demonstrate a variety of mobility options. Just in time for IAA MOBILITY 2023, the developers of MOBIX, an app for sustainable mobility, are starting to connect parking spaces and electric car charging stations with visitors. For the first time, the MOBIX app facilitates finding and reserving previously inaccessible parking spaces and charging electric vehicles at private charging stations. The goal is to make city traffic as sustainable as possible.

Travel with the latest shuttle buses from the city center to the IAA grounds and back

In order to travel comfortably between the various locations of the IAA Open Space in the city center of Munich and the IAA Summit and Conference at Munich Exhibition Center, you can use a special bus route as part of the IAA Experience, which will be available to you free of charge and at regular intervals. The barrier-free special bus line will be operated by mostly zero-emission buses from various exhibitors, including IAV, Trasco/Ikarus and Webasto. The Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs is providing two hydrogen buses in cooperation with the suppliers Arthur Bus, Caetano, GP Joule and the Westfalen Group. The Open Space bus stop is located at Gabelsbergerstraße 35. From there, the bus goes to the Entrance West and then to the Entrance North of the Summit.

Share your experiences of the new mobility offers with other mobility enthusiasts

The IAA Experience brings together mobility enthusiasts from Munich, Germany and around the world at the most popular locations in downtown Munich. What makes the experience formats at the IAA Open Space particularly attractive for you? Unlike the IAA Summit, the world's only industry meeting for trade visitors that combines all forms of mobility in one mobility event, private visitors do not need a ticket for entry to the IAA Open Space and the IAA Experience. Instead, access to all IAA Experience formats in the city center is free of charge for everyone. This makes the IAA MOBILITY a meeting place for everyone who wants to learn about the latest topics and trends in the industry, who wants to participate in the constructive exchange about the best and most sustainable solutions, and whose heart beats for the mobility of tomorrow.

IAA Open SpaceAccess to the IAA Open Space is free and open to all visitors from September 5 to 10, 2023.
