Interview
with Roger AtkinsFounder, Electric Vehicles Outlook Ltd

1. What do you want to present at IAA MOBILITY, or what will you be speaking about at IAA MOBILITY?

I’d like to present a positive outlook at the show, accentuating what European enterprise is good at - and illustrating best practice where possible.

2. Which technological developments do you think will have the greatest impact on mobility in the coming years?

Without doubt AI will be the chief game changer, along with increased vehicle robotics/autonomy - in part to support an ageing population across the continent.

3. What are your goals for IAA MOBILITY 2025, and which topics are your main focus?

Against a challenging backdrop of change...the China challenge, Tariffs, Climate - I want to highlight positive progress and collaboration.

4. Which important future topic do you think is not receiving enough attention in the mobility debate?

Accessibility for disabled people needs more attention and how multi-modal transport solutions connect together.

5. In which area of mobility do you see the greatest potential – and where is there still room for improvement?

Connected assets - public and private, commercial and personal could deliver the principle that sum total of the parts is better than the individual elements.

6. Which partners or stakeholders would you like to connect with at IAA MOBILITY, and why?

I’d like to connect with VC’s, Tier 1 players, Town & City planners...because that’s where much of the change is coming from.

7. How do you envision the future of mobility – and what specific changes do you expect in the next ten years?

Simple economics and changing demographics will increasingly mean using rather than owning personal transport becomes more popular. The era of the robotaxi will be with us at scale during the next 10 years. This will massively challenge the long standing business models of car companies as volume will significantly fall whilst utilisation of each vehicle will significantly rise. The connection between energy and mobility will be seamless - and provide a new recurring revenue stream...with the BIG question - for whom?
