From September 9 to 14, 2025, the IAA Open Space will take place right in the heart of downtown Munich as part of the third edition of IAA MOBILITY 2025.

1. IAA Family Trail

At the FAMILY TRAIL, IAA MOBILITY 2025 becomes an adventure for the whole family. Together with mascot Liaa, you’ll embark on a discovery tour — with lots of hands-on activities, exciting stations, and plenty of fun centered around the mobility of tomorrow. The trail combines playful learning with outdoor activity. At each station, you’ll get fascinating insights into the world of mobility — explained in a child-friendly and entertaining way. Discover the IAA Family Trail with interactive stations where you can join in. Kids and adults work together to solve tasks — with every station, you’ll get closer to your goal. You’ll get a stamp on your trail card for each completed station. Once you’ve collected them all, look forward to a little surprise.

2. Siegestor Stage

t the heart of the IAA MOBILITY Open Space, the Siegestor stage becomes a vibrant hub for anyone eager to experience mobility, culture, and dialogue live. It’s where information meets emotion, and innovation meets interaction – right in the middle of Munich.

The diverse program brings people together: Look forward to high-energy concerts, creative hands-on activities, practical workshops, and inspiring panels featuring leading minds from the mobility industry. On the Siegestor stage, mobility becomes tangible and real for everyone.

Rethinking mobility – inspiration for the next generation
4:00 PM to 4:45 PM

Four-time Formula 1 World Champion and passionate future shaper Sebastian Vettel shares his vision of rethinking mobility. With personal insights, forward-looking ideas on innovative technologies, and a clear message to the next generation, he connects the joy of movement with responsibility for our environment. An inspiring conversation full of impulses – taking us from the racetrack to real life.

DEVADO
4:35 PM to 5:35 PM

Get ready for an unforgettable live experience! DEVADO, the winner of the Radio Gong 96.3 x IAA MOBILITY band contest, is a German-American artist from Munich who will enchant you with her unique one-woman show. Her high-energy pop songs are crafted entirely with her voice and body percussion – creative and incredibly captivating! Disney fans may recognize her voice from the German version of Moana. Don’t miss the chance to be swept away by her stage presence and incredible energy!

VR4Kids – Inclusion through Immersive Experiences
12:00 PM to 1:00 PM

Discover how virtual reality breaks down barriers and opens up new perspectives for children and teens with disabilities or from disadvantaged backgrounds. VR4Kids, a project by Connected Reality, uses immersive 360° experiences to create inclusive training and extraordinary adventures – from a virtual Oktoberfest to safe street crossings and sports activities. VR4Kids makes the impossible possible.

2:15 PM to 3:00 PM

How do kids get to school – here and around the world?
In this interactive stage show, Clarissa takes you on an exciting, fun, and sometimes wild journey across the globe: from boats in Bangladesh to zip lines in Colombia and high-tech school buses in Japan – showing just how different school commutes can be. Through videos, interactive activities, and fun challenges, we’ll explore the topic of mobility together – and brainstorm about the school routes of the future.
A fun-filled program for kids, teens, and families – packed with surprises, emotions, and eye-opening insights.

3, LIAA, the mascot of IAA MOBILITY

IAA MOBILITY has introduced Liaa the squirrel as its official mascot — a friendly face that builds a bridge between the world of mobility and its visitors, especially the younger ones.

At a time when sustainable and climate-friendly mobility is becoming increasingly important, inspiring the next generation is more essential than ever. Liaa, the curious squirrel, embodies that sense of discovery and excitement.

Squirrels are naturally inquisitive creatures, always on the lookout for something new — and Liaa is no exception. She’s constantly exploring exciting, eco-friendly ways to get around and showcases just how diverse and fascinating the world of multimodal mobility can be. With her open-minded and adventurous personality, Liaa encourages visitors of all ages to try out new, sustainable modes of transport.

More than just a mascot, Liaa represents a spirit of curiosity, environmental awareness, and a shared commitment to shaping a more sustainable future. Through Liaa, IAA MOBILITY aims to show that mobility can be fun, environmentally responsible, and something we can all help improve — no matter how old we are.

You can meet Liaa, the official IAA MOBILITY mascot, in the IAA Open Space throughout the event.

4. Citizen Lab at Marienplatz

What does it mean to get around the city in a wheelchair? What new ideas and technologies will change the way we travel? And how can public transportation be improved even further? These and many other exciting questions are at the heart of the Citizens Lab at Marienplatz.

Everyone is welcome—Munich locals, visitors of IAA MOBILITY, and representatives from politics, science, and business. Together, we’ll talk about the mobility of tomorrow and look for new ideas and solutions.

Join us from September 9 to 14, 2025 at the Citizens Lab in downtown Munich right at Marienplatz—get involved, ask questions, and find inspiration!

5. Munich Festival of Lights

The Humboldt University building is illuminated with blue light effects during a night event.

Another highlight in the Open Space will light up the evening hours: For the first time ever, the Festival of Lights is coming to Munich, illuminating iconic buildings and public squares!

Be enchanted by magical light art projections as the Old Town Halls at Marienplatz, the Residenz at Odeonsplatz, and the Bavarian State Library on Ludwigstraße are transformed into glowing masterpieces.

An immersive experience of art and music brought to life through stunning visuals, an event you definitely don’t want to miss.
Every evening from September 9 to 13, from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
