BMW celebrates the world premiere of the BMW iX3 and unveils the BMW Motorrad Vision CE.

BMW has unveiled the all-new BMW iX3 in a world premiere—marking the debut of the first production model from its next-generation product line, the “Neue Klasse.” This next-gen BMW iX3 is a fully electric Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) featuring sixth-generation eDrive technology, a range of up to 805 kilometers (500 miles), and peak charging performance of up to 400 kW. A new electronics and software architecture with four high-performance “superbrain” computers is designed to make this first Neue Klasse model smarter and more future-ready than ever. Series production will begin in fall 2025 at the brand-new Debrecen plant, with market launch in Europe planned for spring 2026.

At the same time, BMW also revealed the BMW Motorrad Vision CE—a forward-looking concept that reimagines electric two-wheeled urban mobility. In addition to its zero-emission electric drivetrain, the BMW Motorrad Vision CE stands out for removing the need for a helmet or traditional protective gear, offering a new vision for freedom and functionality in densely populated city environments.

MINI celebrates the world premiere of two exclusive JCW show cars

In collaboration with fashion and lifestyle brand Deus Ex Machina, MINI celebrated the world premiere of two spectacular one-off John Cooper Works showcars. Both concepts are based on MINI John Cooper Works models—one being the fully electric MINI JCW Electric with up to 190 kW (258 hp), the other powered by a combustion engine delivering 170 kW (231 hp). As part of the partnership, MINI and Deus Ex Machina also unveiled a dedicated apparel collection, which will be available globally both online and in Deus Ex Machina retail stores.

Mercedes-Benz celebrates the world premiere of the new all-electric Mercedes-Benz GLC along with several additional show premieres.

Mercedes-Benz celebrated the world premiere of the new all-electric Mercedes-Benz GLC. At launch, the GLC 400 4MATIC with EQ technology will be available, offering a range of up to 713 kilometers (443 miles). As the first model in a new vehicle family, the electric GLC introduces a bold new take on the brand’s design language—highlighted by a redesigned front grille. It’s also set to become the world’s first car to offer a certified vegan interior option, approved by The Vegan Society.

In addition to the GLC, four more Mercedes-Benz models are making their show debut at this year’s IAA MOBILITY. Among them: the CLA Shooting Brake, the second model in the new CLA family and the first all-electric Mercedes-Benz with a wagon-style rear; the new CLA with a hybrid drivetrain; the CONCEPT AMG GT XX; and the prototype of the fully electric VLE, which offers a glimpse into the future of grand limousines scheduled to hit the road starting in 2026.

The Volkswagen Group celebrates multiple world and show premieres across its brand portfolio.

The Volkswagen Group kicked off IAA MOBILITY with a series of major unveilings during its Volkswagen Group Night on Sunday, featuring two world premieres and multiple show debuts across its brand portfolio.

The spotlight was on the global debut of the Volkswagen ID. CROSS Concept—a compact electric SUV with a projected range of up to 450 kilometers. As the fourth member of the all-electric “Electric Urban Car Family,” it further expands the Group’s EV lineup. Škoda also unveiled its new SUV concept, the Epiq01, for the first time as a physical prototype. Meanwhile, the sibling models Volkswagen ID. Polo and CUPRA Raval were shown as camouflaged production vehicles.

Porsche made headlines with the world premiere of its latest 911 top model, which features the next evolution of the innovative T-Hybrid powertrain. In addition, Porsche became the first automaker to introduce an 11 kW inductive charging system with a single “One-Box” floor plate—demonstrated on the IAA MOBILITY IM stage with a visually striking Cayenne Electric prototype finished in luminous paint.

Audi offered a glimpse into the future of electric performance with the Audi Concept C, a fully electric sports car recently unveiled in Milan. Making its European debut was the rugged Terra pickup concept from the iconic Scout brand—developed in the U.S. specifically for the American market. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles also showcased the autonomous ID. Buzz AD, which forms part of a complete mobility solution from Group subsidiary MOIA, combining vehicle hardware with a software ecosystem and services for autonomous mobility operators.

Additional premieres on display at IAA MOBILITY include: Audi's new Q3 Sportback e-hybrid, the camouflaged production version of the Volkswagen ID.2all, the new T-Roc, the Volkswagen ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE edition, created in collaboration with BOGNER, the world premiere of the CUPRA Tindaya concept, live presentations of the CUPRA Tavascan and the new CUPRA TRIBE EDITIONS of the CUPRA TERRAMAR, FORMENTOR, and LEON, Škoda’s world premiere of the Vision O concept car

Together, these debuts showcase the Volkswagen Group’s commitment to electrification, design innovation, and market-specific mobility solutions across all its core brands.

BYD unveils the SEAL 6 DM-i TOURING and shares its plans for next-generation charging technology.  

At its official press conference, BYD shared key updates on its European production plans and the rollout of its cutting-edge “Flash Charging” technology. With charging power of up to 1,000 kW, this new system could deliver up to 400 kilometers (around 250 miles) of range in just five minutes.

Center stage was the all-new SEAL 6 DM-i TOURING, featuring BYD’s groundbreaking Super Hybrid system based on DM technology. The vehicle boasts a combined range of up to 1,505 kilometers (935 miles), making it a standout in long-distance efficiency.

In addition to the SEAL 6 DM-i TOURING, BYD is showcasing several other models at IAA MOBILITY, including the SEAL, SEAL U DM-i, DOLPHIN SURF, ATTO 2, and SEALION 7. Meanwhile, the company’s premium brand DENZA is making its public debut in Germany with the D9 MPV and flagship Z9GT.

BYD also announced plans to open a new manufacturing facility in Hungary by the end of 2025. The first vehicle to roll off the production line will be the compact Dolphin Surf.

XPENG celebrates the European premiere of the Next P7.

Under the theme “AI Transforms the World,” XPENG is positioning itself as a pioneer of AI-driven mobility in Europe. At IAA MOBILITY, the company celebrated the European premiere of the Next P7—a sleek, high-performance electric sedan.

With 593 horsepower under the hood, the Next P7 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 230 km/h (143 mph). It’s also setting a new benchmark for EV endurance, having covered 3,961 kilometers (2,461 miles) in 24 hours—a record for mass-produced electric vehicles.

Also on display are XPENG’s latest SUV models, the G6 and G9, the spacious X9 MPV, and the enhanced P7+. In a further step toward expanding its European footprint, XPENG announced the opening of a new R&D center in Munich.

Opel presents two world premieres and one public debut.

Opel celebrated the world premieres of the Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo and the all-new Opel Mokka GSE. In addition, the Opel Grandland Electric AWD made its public debut.

Following its unveiling at the IAA Summit, Opel’s latest design study—as well as its upcoming battery-electric production models and the new rally-ready Opel Mokka GSE Rally—will be on display in the Open Space starting September 10. The Mokka GSE Rally first took the spotlight earlier this summer during the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup “powered by GSE.”

Polestar celebrates the world premiere of the Polestar 5

Polestar has officially unveiled the Polestar 5—a four-door performance grand tourer that brings the brand’s bold vision of future mobility into production. Originally introduced in 2020 as the Polestar Precept concept, the vehicle served as a design and technology manifesto focused on sustainability and innovation.

Now realized as a production model, the Polestar 5 stays true to that vision. It will be available in six color options, including two striking matte finishes: “Storm,” a deep and assertive dark gray, and “Magnesium,” a refined and modern silver tone.

Renault celebrates the world premiere of the all-new Renault Clio.

Renault celebrated the world premiere of the all-new Renault Clio, marking the debut of the sixth generation of its iconic small car. A cornerstone of the brand’s lineup since 1990, the Clio remains one of Renault’s most successful and best-selling models.

Also on display are the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric and Renault 4 E-Tech Electric—two key models in the brand’s electrification strategy. In addition, Renault is showcasing two forward-looking concept vehicles: the Emblème, a family car and rolling test lab for low-carbon mobility, and the Renault 5 Turbo 3E, the brand’s first fully electric “mini supercar.”

Leapmotor celebrates the world premiere of the B05 and the European premiere of the B10.

At IAA MOBILITY, Leapmotor celebrated the world premiere of its new compact model, the B05. Following its market launch in China in Q4 of this year, the B05 is scheduled to arrive in Europe starting in Q2 2026.

The brand also marked the European debut of the B10, a compact SUV making its first public appearance. In addition, Leapmotor is showcasing several other models at the show, including the T03 and the C10.

Continental’s AUMOVIO division makes its debut at IAA MOBILITY.

Continental’s AUMOVIO division made its debut at IAA MOBILITY, presenting its first international Mobility Report along with several groundbreaking innovations.

In collaboration with partner Epitone, AUMOVIO unveiled a mirrorless 3D head-up display, offering a new level of immersive driver information. The company also showcased an enhanced version of its Corner Module, which integrates the electric motor, braking, steering, and suspension systems into a single compact unit. Another highlight was a new AI-powered camera designed to significantly improve visibility at night and in adverse weather conditions.

smart celebrates the premiere of the all-new smart #5.

smart celebrated the premiere of the all-new smart #5, which was recently honored with the Red Dot Design Award in the Product Design category and is now being rolled out across several European markets.

In addition to the smart #5, the brand is showcasing its full lineup, including the smart #1 and smart #3. Another standout is the new Keith Haring Art Car—a moving tribute to the iconic New York artist that embodies the fusion of art, urban life, and electric mobility.

MAHLE showcases new range extender system and thermal management module.

MAHLE presented a range of innovations aimed at accelerating electrification and advancing sustainable powertrain solutions to reduce CO₂ emissions in road transport.

Among the highlights is a new range extender system featuring a high-voltage generator, designed to boost the driving range of battery-electric vehicles to up to 1,350 kilometers (839 miles). MAHLE also unveiled a compact thermal management module with an integrated heat pump, which can increase EV range by up to 20 percent—even in cold weather conditions.

In addition, the company showcased combustion engine components capable of running on up to 100% ethanol, offering an immediate and impactful way to lower CO₂ emissions from the existing vehicle fleet.

Qualcomm and Valeo expand their partnership for ADAS and autonomous driving solutions. 

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and Valeo have announced an expansion of their long-standing partnership, aiming to provide the global automotive industry with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving (AD) solutions—in short, enabling vehicles to take on even more driving tasks themselves.

At the core of the collaboration is Qualcomm Technologies’ Snapdragon Ride™ Platform, which includes system-on-chips (SoCs) and an ADAS/AD software stack. This technology will be combined with Valeo’s expertise in areas such as automated parking algorithms, sensors, electronic control units (ECUs), as well as system integration and validation.

HOLON unveils its fully electric, autonomous shuttle.

HOLON is showcasing its fully electric, autonomous shuttle at IAA MOBILITY in Munich. Since its last appearance at the show in 2023, the HOLON urban has made significant strides in development. With the first prototype phase completed and testing already underway, the vehicle is now gearing up for its initial pilot operations on public roads.

Togg celebrated the world premiere of its production-ready all-electric fastback sedan, the T10F, along with the official market launch of the T10X SUV in Germany.

Visitors can also explore Trumore, Togg’s digital mobility ecosystem. Under the theme “Clean Energy Solutions,” Togg is highlighting its broader vision by showcasing Siro, its battery joint venture, as well as Trugo—the largest ultra-fast charging network in Turkey.

Schaeffler showcased its expanded portfolio for the first time following the successful merger with Vitesco Technologies.

Focusing on three key areas—electrified powertrain solutions, intelligent chassis and body systems, and technologies for software-defined vehicles—Schaeffler introduced a range of innovative products. Among them was the EMR4 (Electronics Motor Reducer, 4th generation), a hybrid transmission system that integrates power electronics, smart hydraulics with built-in cooling, a clutch, and a parking lock mechanism. This also included a combustion engine exhibit specifically developed for hybrid applications.

In addition, Schaeffler presented advanced steer-by-wire technologies, such as force-feedback functionality in its Hand Wheel Actuator (HWA), and powerful master and zone controllers that are part of the company’s integration platform for software-defined vehicles.

Bosch showcases new technology for software-defined vehicles and commits a nine-figure investment in Vehicle Motion Management.

Bosch is doubling down on the integration of software and physical vehicle systems, with a strong focus on software-defined vehicle technologies. At the core are systems for braking, steering, powertrain, and control units—all increasingly governed by intelligent software.

The company is also advancing its ADAS product family for assisted driving and parking up to SAE Level 2. Three distinct system variants are tailored for different vehicle classes, with mid- and high-end versions already in series production in China. All of this is built on an end-to-end AI architecture designed to shorten development cycles and enhance functionality. Complementary to this, Bosch is offering connected mapping services that provide real-time traffic information.

Bosch is also presenting a suite of new hardware solutions: the SX600 and SX601 radar sensors, adaptable cameras for various vehicle architectures, and new inertial sensors capable of supporting multiple systems simultaneously. Additionally, Bosch unveiled the TB293 and TB193 ultrasonic chips, which use an open VASI bus standard, and a low-power Bluetooth tire pressure sensor with integrated diagnostics.

In a major strategic move, Bosch has announced a nine-figure investment in Vehicle Motion Management. This advanced control software centrally orchestrates all vehicle dynamics—braking, steering, propulsion, and chassis systems—ensuring they work seamlessly together and respond more intuitively to driver input. Since the system is hardware-independent, it can be flexibly integrated into a wide range of vehicle architectures.

Rimac Technology has unveiled a new generation of solid-state batteries.

Rimac Technology has unveiled a new generation of batteries based on solid-state technology. At the heart of the innovation is a new platform developed in collaboration with ProLogium and the Mitsubishi Chemical Group. ProLogium supplies the solid-state cells, while Mitsubishi contributes its materials expertise to the partnership.

XYTE MOBILITY launches its first vehicle, the XYTE ONE

XYTE Mobility has launched its first vehicle: the XYTE ONE—a three-wheeled, fully electric scooter featuring an integrated safety cell that allows it to be legally driven without a helmet and with just a standard Class B driver’s license.

Designed to combine cutting-edge engineering with advanced safety features, the XYTE ONE is positioned as the world’s safest electric scooter. Its innovative "SafetyFrame" enables helmet-free riding while meeting strict regulatory standards. The scooter offers a range of over 100 kilometers (62 miles) on a single charge and has an electronically limited top speed of 100 km/h (62 mph).

Fraunhofer presents research projects and findings in the fields of autonomous driving & connectivity, urban mobility, and digital future technologies.

Fraunhofer has unveiled a series of groundbreaking concepts aimed at shaping the future of mobility. Among the highlights is “The Hearing Car”, a demo vehicle developed by Fraunhofer IDMT in Oldenburg. It features AI-based acoustic scene recognition technology capable of detecting environmental sounds—such as approaching emergency vehicles—to enhance situational awareness for autonomous systems.

Fraunhofer also introduced its latest actimeter for market research and AI data collection, which uses video-based AI to detect, classify, and track people and their actions.

Another innovation is goCRASH3D, presented by Fraunhofer IOF—a system that captures 3D data from inside a test vehicle during crash simulations, offering new insights for vehicle safety development.

Additionally, a Fraunhofer IOF team showcased a novel infrared camera operating in the 8 to 14-micrometer wavelength range—the same spectrum in which human thermal radiation occurs—making it ideal for detecting people in both daylight and darkness.

Fraunhofer IOF also introduced an innovative LED lighting system that enables adaptive high beam and efficient low beam lighting, as well as a compact dynamic turn signal designed for maximum visibility even in daylight.

Another highlight is SensAI, a multimodal AI system capable of detecting cognitive distraction using a combination of image processing, speech analysis, and physiological data.

Finally, Fraunhofer IOSB presented a real-time AI system that monitors in-vehicle activities linked to motion sickness—such as reading or turning the head—and uses in-cabin cameras and 3D pose recognition to initiate adaptive countermeasures before symptoms arise.

GAC presents six innovative models for Europe and a multirotor flying car.

GAC unveiled six innovative flagship models from its HYPTEC, GAC, and AION brands, including the AION UT, the two-tone AION V, the GAC S7, the GAC E9, and the HYPTEC HL.

In addition, GAC is showcasing the Aircab—its fully production-ready multirotor flying car, which made its debut in Hong Kong.

IAA Premiere: Indimo brings Forthing to Germany.

Indimo Automotive, the general importer for the Forthing brand in Germany, has announced three new models in collaboration with Chinese manufacturer DFM Forthing for IAA MOBILITY 2025 in Munich.

With the debut of the Forthing 4 PHEV, Forthing 7 REEV, and Forthing 9 PHEV, the brand is introducing a new generation of vehicles that blend modern design, innovative technology, and efficient powertrain solutions.
