During the testing phase, MOIA plans to expand its fleet to more than 100 autonomous ID. Buzz units. These vehicles are a cornerstone of MOIA's "turnkey solution" for autonomous mobility. Each vehicle will have a safety driver on board to monitor the autonomous technology. Full ride-hailing services via the Uber platform are scheduled to begin by late 2026.
This announcement follows a strategic partnership formed between MOIA America and Uber in April 2025. Since then, the companies have opened a joint operations center in Los Angeles to manage daily fleet activities. Looking ahead, MOIA America and Uber aim to build a fleet of several thousand autonomous ID. Buzz vehicles to roll out driverless ride-hailing services across multiple U.S. markets.
At the beginning of 2026, Volkswagen ADMT, LLC was rebranded as MOIA America, LLC. The new name aligns the company with MOIA’s established presence in Europe, where the Volkswagen subsidiary operates one of the continent's largest ride-pooling services and is advancing autonomous driving initiatives in cities such as Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, and Oslo.
