BYD celebrates European debut of SEAL U and Denza D9 at IAA MOBILITY

At IAA MOBILITY, Chinese automaker BYD will present the European premiere of the SEAL U, an SUV offshoot of the Seal e-sedan.  The model will be launched in two LFP battery versions: with 71.8 kWh capacity for 420 kilometers and with 87 kWh capacity for 500 kilometers WLTP range. This is the sixth model in BYD's range of electric vehicles in Europe.  BYD has already introduced the Atto 3, Han and Tang. The Dolphin and Seal models will follow later this year. The former is a compact car. The Seal has been announced for this fall. It is not yet known when the Seal U will be sold in Europe.   

BYD introduces cell-to-body technology and iTAC technology   

The SEAL is expected to score mainly with its sporty touch, the five-seat SUV SEAL U with versatility, comfort and spaciousness, BYD now announced. . Like the Seal, Dolphin and Atto 3, the SEAL U will be based on BYD's proprietary e-platform 3.0. It will use Blade batteries with LFP cell chemistry.   

At the IAA MOBILITY, BYD also plans to showcase the proprietary cell-to-body technology used in the SEAL to integrate the batteries. Here, the lid of the battery housing also serves as the floor of the body. ... Also on display will be the iTAC (Intelligent Torque Adaption Control) technology, which is designed to improve the stability and safety of BYD models.   

Denza D9 also celebrates European premiere   

For the first time in Europe, BYD's luxury sub-brand Denza, a joint venture between BYD and Mercedes-Benz, will also be on display at IAA MOBILITY. The Denza D9 is a large seven-seat sedan in the premium segment.
