From a sewing machine factory to an all-electric car brand by 2028

Opel continues its strategy to become an all-electric brand in Europe from 2028. In November 2022, the company presented the Opel Astra Electric, the first fully electric production Astra in the history of the compact-class bestseller. By 2024, Opel plans to offer at least one electrified version for every model series.

The company, which began as a sewing machine factory, became the world's largest bicycle manufacturer, and then an international automotive brand, is taking the next step in its more than 160-year history.
