Hi Lou, what did you talk about in Episode 5?

In Episode 5 of the IAA MOBILITY Visionary Club Podcast, my guests discuss electric mobility and how to ensure broad public acceptance for the use of electric cars. In addition, my guests talk about the unique challenges and opportunities associated with introducing electric vehicles in rural areas, as opposed to urban areas. To that end, they discuss innovative financing strategies being explored to overcome the financial hurdles associated with expanding charging infrastructure in rural areas. They will also discuss the benefits and misconceptions of electric vehicles and the advances in battery technology and charging infrastructure that can be pursued to significantly reduce charging time and improve the overall efficiency of charging systems. They will also discuss urban planning and design strategies to overcome space constraints and find suitable locations for charging stations in densely populated regions.

Who are your guests?

My first guest is Roger Atkins. He is the founder of Electric Vehicles Outlook and one of the top electric vehicle voices on Linkedin. He now has nearly 300,000 people around the world following him there with his stories about electric mobility. He has worked at established automakers like Volkswagen, Audi and Volvo, as well as startups like Virgin Cars, Gibbs Amphibians and, more than a decade ago, electric truck company Modec. These days he keeps busy moderating or speaking at major industry events. He is also an advisor to a number of companies, including electric aircraft company Zeroavia, innovative graphite processor Urbix Resources, the Fully Charged Show, and Canadian non-profit Energy Disruptors.

My second guest is Lars Jacobs. He is Vice President E-Mobility Service Provider & Digital Solutions at EnBW, one of the largest energy companies in Germany and Europe. After studying international business, Lars Jacobs held various management positions at Vodafone Germany in digital and operations. In April 2002, he took over the EMP (E-Mobility Provider) & digital Solutions division at EnBW. His responsibilities here include the operation and further development of the EnBW mobility+ app and charging tariffs, as well as roaming, digital product management and various software solutions to make charging simple and straightforward.
