Nissan has extensively updated the Ariya for the new model year, equipping the all-electric crossover with a fresh design, additional comfort functions, and new connectivity features.

With this expansion, Tesla aims to cover the entire value chain — from the battery cell to the finished electric vehicle — at a single location in Europe. Mass production of the battery cells is expected to be launched in 2027.
According to Tesla, the new investment is specifically intended to facilitate production ramp-up of its "4680" battery cells. This generation of cells is considered a cornerstone technology for future Tesla models, designed to offer higher energy density and lower production costs.
With a projected annual capacity of 18 GWh, the factory could eventually produce enough battery cells for approximately 250,000 to 350,000 vehicles per year, depending on the respective battery sizes.
